JRP Engagement Session Photography Workshop

Monday April 29th, 2024

One of our favorite things to do here at Jesse Rinka Photography is to give back to the local photographic community by offering affordable educational workshops and meetups. Throughout the year, we will offer both in-studio and on-location styled sessions to allow opportunities for passionate creators to come together to create amazing work and find new ways to learn and grow. Our next workshop will be on Monday, April 29th, 2024 from 4:30PM to 7:30PM. Come and join us as we take you through our approach on engagement sessions while working with a real couple.

What will we cover?

All throughout this hands-on workshop, we will discuss a range of topics including posing/direction, composition, how to find the good light, how to embrace the harsh light (if it exists) and of course off-camera lighting all while working with a real couple. Your sessions should always be fun, creative and interactive. So let’s work on your approach and technical skills together and elevate your final product as well as your client experience.

How long is the workshop?

If you plan on taking part in the pre-shoot meet & greet at the studio, then the workshop will go from 4:30PM to 7:30PM. If you are only looking to meet us at the location for the shoot itself, please plan to arrive around 5:15PM as we will be aiming to start immediately at 5:30PM.

As a Flashpoint Creator, I will be using lighting from the Flashpoint/Godox systems. (400Pro, 200Pro, 100Pro). If you have a Flashpoint/Godox transmitter, I would certainly recommend that you bring it along. I do shoot Sony but will also have at least one Canon and Nikon Transmitter to share with attendees. Shooting with Off-Camera flash of course is not required so if you prefer to only shoot natural light, you may also do so.

Aside from that, I recommend that you of course bring along your camera(s) and favorite lenses to photograph couples in your style. If you have your own lighting system that is different than what I will have available to use, you are free to bring it along as well and I will do my best to assist without disrupting the flow of the workshop.

Our focus is always on both your personal and learning experience as well as the educational value that we are able to provide. Our workshops offer a community-based environment where everyone is there to be supportive of one another and feel a part of the team. As a result of our workshops, close friendships and working relationships are often formed. For this reason, we have decided to limit the size of our workshops to create a more personalized experience. We promise you won’t regret your investment in yourself!
